I had a dream last night that I was starring in my high school production of Back to the Future.  I forget what part I was playing, but it may have been Marty McFly.  I would rather’ve had the part of George McFly, because it’s a funnier, more fun part, isn’t it, but what are you going to do.  They gave me a bigger part.  It’s all this unrestrainable talent, I guess.

How cool would that be, a high school production of something like Back to the Future?  Usually they only do things that are interesting to drama teachers, like Oklahoma or Our Town

‘Recycle Bin’? Try, uh, ‘Trash’

Why is called a ‘Recycle Bin’?  Who besides Microsoft calls a trash can a ‘recycle bin’?  What you’ve got there is a trash can.  So call it that.  There have been forty versions of Windows and they’ve never once called it that.

Is it that Apple was the first to name it ‘Trash’?  And so you felt it would be infringing on the intellectual property of Apple?  And you wanted no part of that lawsuit? 

Well…pardon me for asking…but wasn’t your whole company founded on stealing Apple’s ideas?  Read more »

Brush with Greatness

A few years ago, my parents and I were at a restaurant called Bob Evans.  It’s a chain, I’m not sure how far across the country it extends, but in my extensive travels I’ve seen Bob Evanses as far north as Pennsylvania.  We were sitting eating and one of us noticed a short heavyset black man sitting alone at the adjacent table.

Instantly I knew it was Biff Henderson,  the sound technician (or whatever it is he does with that headset) from Dave Letterman.  Read more »
