Shmooky the cat

It’s a very interesting sensation when you know that you’re losing it.  To observe yourself, to monitor the sensations you experience when you literally don’t have complete control of yourself is really…well, interesting.  And odd.  I think it’s safe to say that most of us are in control of ourselves most of the time.  But once in a while, something happens that’s traumatic enough, stressful enough, HUGE enough to make a person just not be in control.  A car accident…some sort of crime…a death…

MORE Christmas songs I don’t ever need to hear again

3. ANYTHING by Johnny Mathis

The only thing I’ve ever been able to stand by Johnny Mathis is that Misty song, maybe that Chances Are song.  And really about once every four years or so for either of those is plenty.  Anything else–not interested.  Especially with Christmas music; since there are sixteen versions of every possible Christmas song by sixteen different singers, you can afford to be picky.

But even if I couldn’t be picky, Johnny Mathis would most likely lose out.  He’s just got wayyy more than his fair share of vibrato.  If he and Aaron Neville did an album together (assume for the sake of argument that there would be some sort of demand for it) I would have to predict that stereos everywhere would shake themselves to pieces trying to recreate all that vibrato, and that that would be the final touch needed to send California on into the ocean.
