Apparently I’m easily irritated
Posted in What the heck, people on June 15th, 2005 by ChrisSo what was I gonna write about anyway? Oh yes. Pet Peeves. First of all, I hate the phrase Pet Peeves, cz what the freak is a peeve. When do you ever say PEEVE without saying pet in front of it? Never. Well, some very dedicated Christians sometimes would say “Oh, that PEEVES me off”, which, although technically and grammatically correct, is very stupid. We all know what they really mean, and you know what, if in order to keep from cussing you have to say PEEVE, why don’t you just not say anything.
Or how bout saying TICKS! I think that’s even better than the word it replaces…it’s like a time bomb. Man, that really ticks me off…you’re ticking me off…uh oh….tick tick tick…ooh better not push it…tick tick tick…boom, YOU’RE DEAD. Wow, now that’s intimidating. If you say the other thing, really, if you think about it…it just sounds like you might have an incontinence problem. Think about that next time you say it.
