MapQuest 4 Mobile

Remember MapQuest?  That website you used to go to to try and figure out directions on their tiny little black-and-white map with the big red stars on it?  Then you’d print out the maps and the directions on thirty or forty sheets of inkjet paper?  Y’know, old school turn-by-turn directions.  You know, back before Google came out with Google Maps, and you never went back to MapQuest ever again, cz Google was so much prettier and bigger and easier and better?

Yeah, MapQuest!  You remember now.

But I’ve heard people talk about how the Avett Brothers are great and how this music or that reminds them of the Avett Brothers, and I don’t get it.  I think it’s cz they’re acoustic.  I think that for some reason if music is acoustic, it is therefore understood that it is great.

So I gleefully rushed over with Annalise to show her her first real life mouse!  So we shooed Jinx away and crouched down and watched the mouse expectantly, to see it scurry and dart and squeak and wrinkle its little mouse nose and flick its little mouse tail and maybe eat a piece of cheese and just generally do what mice do.

So I took Annalise to daycare.  I unstrap 14 belts and extract her from her baby roll cage and walk her up the sidewalk.  The Daycare Lady opens the door for me and we start with the small talk about the weather.  I put Annalise down inside the door and go into my pocket for the check for the lady.  She thanks me and then there’s more small talk.  So as I have a very low tolerance for small talk, when I’ve had all of it I can take I look down at Annalise, still standing dutifully in front of me, to tell her goodbye.

She’s staring past me toward some not-significant spot outside.  Her little eyes are flooded and brimming with tears and her little mouth is all twisted together and quivering.

But still, after all this time, I’m sure Taylor Dayne will be very happy to know that someone still cares.  (And so strongly!)  Was it Love Will Lead You Back that sent you over the brink into madness?  Yeah, that one almost got me too.
